A Review of "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims"

by Esther

Have you ever heard of a talking horse that can time travel into history? Well, wait no more, the book "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims" is here.

The characters are Rush, Liberty, Tommy and Freedom. Rush is a substitute who teaches history at Manchester Middle School. Liberty is a time travelling horse who loves to eat. Tommy is a football player who gets in trouble. Freedom is a girl who can talk to the minds of animals. The setting takes place in the Mayflower, when they were going to the new world to get away from King James.

Rush Limbaugh was born in Missouri and is sixty-two. His father was a judge who encouraged his children to learn as much as they could about politics. Rush also wrote political books.

The book "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims" is a good book to read and so I would recommend this book to other kids to read.

Acrostic Poem

by Nicole

Nifty, nice, naughty
Is how my family sees me.
Colorful, caring, crying
Our many little things.
Listening, learning, laughing
Every day I'm like that.

Real or Fake

by Hannah

Real or Fake, that is the question. Kids say there isn't a day called St. Nick's Day. They even say it's a myth. But it's not a myth, it's real, they're wrong.

Even if the kids are wrong, they're not, the calendar makers are wrong. But I'm pretty sure they haven't heard anything about St. Nick's eve and day. The reason is that no one has heard of the story of St. Nick.

Now I told you about a special day.

St. Nick was walking past a few houses, then realizing some families are poor and some are rich. So every night he leaves fruits and nuts in wooden shoes.

He is remembered on a day called St. Nick's day.

by Hannah

I was always bulled since the beginning of kindergarten. It was depressing being bullied. It made me feel horrible and sad.

This started on the bus, when a few boys took my scarf and played tug-o-war with it and gave it back laughing. I was upset. It continued in 1st, 2nd and kindergarten.

Then it got worse. A boy called me names when I was wearing my hat. That was in 3rd and 4th grade. In 4th the name calling got worse.

He said I don't have a great voice or I'm ugly. It made me feel horrible.

When my mom found out that I was bullied she pulled us out and put us into homeschooling. It made all of us happy.

The Horses Are Coming!

by Hannah

The horses are coming, the horses are coming. Yes, I know funny and weird, but they're really are coming. It's the 26 annual of the Christmas Parade. They're all different horses and fun floats, even a Grinch in Jail float pulled by 4 small horses. It's cute and funny at the same time.
We have been invited to a party from a friend of ours. I think there's hot coco with marshmallows in the hot coco or Christmas cookies.

The St. Nick Hunt

by Nicole

When I first woke up I went to wake up Esther. I found Esther's  stocking and so I went to find mine's. I thought I found mine's but I found Hannah's instead and couldn't find mine's. Then I  found mine's at the side of my bed. Esther started first without us but Hannah and me caught up to Esther but I came in first after I found more chocolate.

St. Nick's Day

St. Nick's Day is the time we put out our stockings to get gifts and candy. Best of all we get to share  with our  family what we got.  St. Nick is someone who gives  gifts to kids  who will share with other kids.   St. Nick gave me all the stuff for school that was for home also some goggles that were blue. My sisters got pink and black goggles.  St. Nick also rides a horse to get all the houses in one night like someone else.  St. Nick can also give candy and chocolate to kids  who are nice to others. Now it is time I tell you about the best part looking in your stocking for gifts to give to your mom and dad.                              THE END

My Cat

by Nicole

When    I   got    Houdini,  he    was   a   stray    and    we    had     to     name   him.
His    name   had   to    be    Prince     Naveen,    Esther    named     him.
We    had     to     name     him     lots   of    times, because he kept on doing stuff that required a new name.
How    he    got   the    name    Rotten.
We   had     to    pay   a     fortune    to   get    his   balls    cut     off    and    get    shots.
He    escaped    out   of    the     house    once   and     he    escaped     again.
Houdini    likes    boxes     and    bags.
He  likes    to     look   out    the      windows     and     hunt.
He    likes    to     hunt     birds   and    rabbits.
He   likes     to     attack    Lucky (my mom's cat).
He  also    likes      to      attack     Lily (Esther's dog).
Houdini     likes     to      escape.

My Dog

By Esther

I've always wanted a dog now I have a dog named Lily, but I call her Lil.
I still will never forget the time that we got her she is so cute I love her.
Last summer my mom and Nicole went to go get a dog, my mom and Nicole went to vet's to ask something on how munch the dog will cost. Nicki saw a sign that had a dog on it when mom was talking to the people about a dog, the person just by the counter said that we have a dog that's what got mom so happy.
Mom and Nicole went to go pick me and Hannah up from basketball camp, Nicole told me the news on the dog.  We got Lily from the vet. Lily loved her new home.
Then the cats freaked Lily out. We got one more cat with the longest name in the house which I do not want to say.
The first leash she chewed though, her 2 leash she hasn't  chewed through.
She goes crazy with bunnies she almost broke her neck we got her halter back on her.
I love my dog so much, my friend  wants to steal her.  You now know about my dog!!!!!!

Esther is a Girl's Name

by   Nicole

Esther   is   a    girl    name.   There    is    a   story    about     Esther    and  I   would    like     to   tell      you.  There   girl     named    Esther    who   is  a   Jew     and  the    king    banished    his
queen   and    had    to    find     a    new     queen.  Esther became   his      queen.

The King favored Esther very much. He had an advisor who hated Esther's cousin (who had cared for her, since she is an orphan). This advisor conned the King into banishing all of the Jews. The King had agreed. Esther was convinced that to save her cousin and all the other Jews, she needed to go to the King and convince him that this was wrong. She finally did this and saved all the Jews.

Rude Boys

by Esther

Today I was called a mean name 2 times by a mean boy.
He had a very nice brother, who was very shy.
The 2 names were big butt, little pecker. He thought that was a way to play with us.
Now, he doesn't get to play with us, he got punished. We left to go home.
I don't want to tell you about the punishment.
Never talk to rude boys. Never ever. Never play with them.
I've learned my lesson on rude boys, time to learn yours.

Girls Learning Space

I will be homeschooling my girls this year. They will be writing on this blog to share their thoughts and practice their writing and organization. They will have a day each week to write on this blog. They can have more if they want, but they will have one day that they will have to blog. They will learn how to write to a blog and make changes. They will be sharing this one and it will be reviewed and cared for by me (their mother) so that they are safe. Friends and relatives are asked to be kind. This is a learning spot. Each girl has her own style. Each girl has her own likes and ways of learning. This will be interesting for all of us. Please note that I will moderate comments and will remove any that are inappropriate. I will also make sure that they don't see them. - Mary
